The breakthrough pressure measuring instrument is used to measure the maximum pressure of gas breakthrough rock samples saturated with different fluids under simulated formation conditions. It is an important research parameter to evaluate the gas sealing ability of gas reservoir cover. After the rock-like wetting fluid is saturated, the non-wetting fluid must overcome the capillary resistance of the rock in order to discharge the wetting fluid. The smaller the capillary radius of the rock, the greater the resistance and the higher the required breakthrough pressure. Gradually increase the test pressure at the inlet end under simulated formation conditions. When the pressure is sufficient to drain the saturated fluid in the replacement rock sample, the gas breakthrough can be seen at the outlet end, and the breakthrough pressure of the rock sample can be measured.
