I. Overview:

In accordance with the Oil and Gas Industry Standard of the People’s Republic of China SYT7329-2016, ‘Method for the Determination of Organic Chlorine Content in Oilfield Chemicals’, the organic chlorine extraction process requires multiple injections of toluene. Toluene is a colourless, highly volatile liquid; inhalation of large quantities can cause damage to the nervous system. Furthermore, manual operation is not only time-consuming and labour-intensive but is also susceptible to human error, leading to instability in extraction efficiency and accuracy.

Guided by a people-centred approach and with a view to improving the efficiency and quality of product testing, reducing labour costs and risks, meeting environmental protection requirements, and promoting technological innovation and industrial upgrading, the Oilfield Chemical Product Quality Supervision and Testing Station of the Xinjiang Oilfield Experimental and Testing Research Institute collaborated with our company in 2024 to develop automated equipment for organic chlorine extraction, which proved successful.

The device has now been successfully deployed at the Xinjiang Oilfield Supervision Centre and the Dagang Oilfield Supervision and Testing Centre.

II. Equipment Functions:

1. Achieves full automation of the entire process from toluene injection to the completion of the sixth centrifugation;

2. Enables the separate collection of waste liquid and waste solids;

3. Processes no fewer than 24 samples per day, with a total processing time of less than 8 hours;

4. Ensures health, safety and environmental protection: the entire process is ventilated and equipped with a fixed toluene detector;

5. All fluid-contacting components are free from organochlorine compounds;

6. Equipped with a real-time video surveillance system.
